In 1997, just before the handover of Hong Kong to China, a complete tram ride across Hong Kong island from Western Market to Happy Valley was recorded. These are a few scenes from a continuous journey that captures every rattle and bounce of a creaky streetcar making its way across a dynamic city in constant change.

  • @Jonathan6540 It's going to be 1.20 for child and 1.1 for elderlies.Also,adult fare will be 2.30

  • It's just the symbolism. How the turnover brought about a new era.

  • Those trams are still there you know,

and yes, i do wish the British still held HK, but the trams have been there since. all Sai wan /Kennedy town to Sau kei wan of the trams. every route of that was shown is still here today.

I don't know why you made it seem like it is such a old thing.

And yes, it still costs 1 dollar for children and elderly, and 2 dollars for adults

    =)
