@Lengsel7 I'm ignorant of the process, but I was wondering the same thing. Could it have something to do with the affecting the hardness of the metal being machine? Frankly, I don't have a clue; but I'm amazed what a skilled metal workers can do with an English Wheeling Machine or any metal forming equipment.

thanks, mate. you do me great favor! I'll try the speed rate tomorrow. we use meters. so 600 SFM, .0035ipr is about 180 meters and 0.9 feed rate. Hope the knife won't wear too fast.

hi, may i ask you what kind of knive you use? do you use diamend knife? I'm machining whit same hardness steel, H13, HRC 50~52. But problem is it take too much time! The working piece is 300mm in dia, 300mm tall.
What's your feed rate, speed and cut depth? I only cut 0.1mm, and speed 80m. i really need to ruduce the machining time.
thanks.

Greetings Dioiao,
The Tool is Ceramic, Diamonds are nice but they can fail very easily. The Wheel is turning at 600 SFM, and the feedrate is no more than .0035 ipr.

Nice cuts...I love hard turning like this. We use english wheels all the time, but I didn't know they were that hard.

Not all are Hardened, to my knowledge we are the only ones making them. We do wheels for most everyone.
