  • it wasnt fair it was something stupid he docked for and for that he had every right to storm off the podium

  • @1000RRboyJay It was like 3 seconds. He stormed off due to the previous saturday. He left the pit at 60.112 mph. the limit was 60 so he got a 30 second penalty and ended up in fourth when he was 3 seconds off the lead before he got the penalty.

  • @Dravensdmf All this said, I desperately want Guy to win TT and i was gutted when i managed to get time to go to the scarborough gold cup and he wasnt there. Like I said I'm a fan of Guy I just thought his antics surrounding this incident were disappointing.

  • @hizzyrider the pit lane speed limiters are set up on a dyno by the teams. as has been mentioned if Guy's clicked it on a fraction too late or off to early then thats his mistake. His teams responsible for their own bike so if the limiter is calibrated incorrectly its an issue to take up with his team. and besides there has to be a cut off. If you allow 60.1 then everyone will aim for 60.1 not 60.0 Thems the rules and he for what ever reason fell foul. Johnson took it on the chin.

  • @Dravensdmf can't say now. made that comment after coming back from the TT. haven't got the DVD, so guess I'd you'd better check it for your own peace of mind? whatever, I still stick by my believe that if the pit lane speed controllers are 'calibrated', presumably by the race organisers, the riders can't be held responsible ( or accused of cheating) if the bike exceeds the 60mph limit.

  • @hizzyrider hmmm not sure about that. Gary Johnson got a 30 sec penalty in 2011, which actually moved guy up to a podium. can you cite which rider in which race? He wasnt 3 secs off the lead btw it was just under 20 and stretching iirc though i could stick the dvd on to check. im a big fan of Guy but this kind of behaviour saddens me because its childish and i thought of him as above that. wouldnt see McGuinness doing it and he's won 17 of the buggers.

  • Guy Martins a god he deserves the tt

  • To put things into perspective, a penalty of 10 seconds was given to another rider for the same 'offence' during TT2011 - considering the pit lane speed controllers are supposed to be calibrated, how can the rider deemed to be at fault and penalised?

  • @eltotoX Nice compromise! I can go with that m8!

  • @mrmups Let's just say he mildly rained off the podium.

  • looked like he just left the podium, rather than storm O_o
