Lennox "The Vulture" Lewis career breakdown
Here are Lennox Lewis' most difficult opponents
Evander Holyfield - Lennox cleverly waited until Holyfield was 37 years old to finally muster up the courage to fight him. Holyfield had already once retired with a congenital heart defect and looked a shadow of his late 90's-Early 90's prime. After Holyfield winning a controversial decision against Vaughn Bean in 1998, Lennox Lewis still needed a favour off the judges despite Holyfield being washed up

Lewis wants revenge on drunken druggie Oliver
Dillon John
(London, England)
Date: Jan 5 1997
McCall has hardly been seen in public since he entered a drugs rehabilitation clinic in North Carolina last Autumn to fight cocaine and marijuana problems.
When he did surface, he was promptly arrested for slinging a Christmas tree across a hotel foyer in Nashville.
His erratic behaviour means no-one is quite sure what shape or frame of mind he'll be in when he turns up to meet Lewis next month.

Holyfield is making Lewis very nervous
The Herald
September 25, 1998
Evander Holyfield is the one giving Lewis cause for concern after his failure to make light work of the lightly-regarded Vaughn Bean in defence of his IBF title belt last weekend.
A stream of right hands bouncing off Holyfield's shaven skull gave Lewis the uncomfortable feeling that the keys to the treasure chest were being knocked from his grasp

@BOXING; Despite Lack of Seasoning, Lewis Retains W.B.C. Title By TIMOTHY W. SMITH Published: September 27, 1998 SIGN IN TO E-MAIL PRINT SINGLE-PAGE After Vaughn Bean lasted 12 rounds against Evander Holyfield in their heavyweight championship fight last week, Lennox Lewis complained that Holyfield looked like a has-been (c) LENNOX LEWIS 1998 LENNOX LEWIS = SPONGE CAKE CHIN LENNOX LEWIS = COWARD LENNOX LEWIS = VULTURE LENNOX LEWIS = THE MAN WHO COULDN'T FIGHT

That's a weak & biased accusation against Lewis considering that there's only a 3 year age difference (technically 2 yrs., 10 mo., 17 days) between Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis (Holyfield being elder). Lewis wasn't necessarily a spring chicken either at the time he fought Holyfield.
