CBS 2 HD Premiere 9-21-08

Here is the premiere of CBS 2 WBBM in HD with new graphics/music/and set from their new Broadcast Center at 22 W Washington St. They were having some audio problems but other than that it was a nice launch.

I like everything. The new music is not so imposing (especially compared to the most recent talent opens). In the morning, the camaras behind the anchors is looking out to Daley Plaza and the Picasso Sculpture. How could it be any better? Finally it will feel like they are part of Chicago, and its atmosphere. With this new studio, people will recognize WBBM personalities while walking in The Loop and hopefully tune in at home. This is GM Joe Ahern's last shot at gaining viewers. They can do it!

they are so stupid and never consistent...a few months after the new set debuted they ditched using the desk near that monitor wall backdrop, got rid of the left 103" plasma screen, and barely ever have their window open so people can look inside. whats the point of having a street-side studio? they now use a mini-desk that is designed for 1-anchor stand-up shots for two people at a time. its awkward and weirdly paced. ugh.
