@imareload No but close. It's a style that originated by trying to look like Californian girls. XD Jersey Shore came loong after these girls started doing this.

@laurenrosalie By the time you get to ganguro it's gone really overboard but it really started off as the media making fun of "California Girls" and they tanned the models and narrowed their noses and put them in over accessorized, eclectic clothing styles. No one really expected it to get popular or expand and exaggerate. Ganguro is a really really excessive version of Gyaru, which is what it all started out as.

Just to correct you.
Yamanba and manba originated from ganguro. Ganguro is soft. Yamanba has white make up above the eyes only with stickers. Manba has white make up above and below the eyes with less stickers.
