  • @iceman977th I also saw there was a road called ek rail road tunnel I took a few pics for a future adventure... It was out between route 1 and .... Crap... Argilite ..

  • @iceman977th When I was very very young that turntable was still there as well as a rotting but still open general store... My bike adventures would have been ( well ? ) within the boundries of grayson , hit hens , Webbville and perhaps as far as olive hill or out by the lake a bit more... I've tracked orettynmuch the steps of that line and just nothing fits, or tiny remainders of once great tunnels.... .

  • @sonnytsbr I'm a young kid myself, but I've been slowly learning about the old branch. It was a functioning rail line up until about the mid 80's. It couldn't have been between Hitchens & Grayson, as the EK Railway was abandoned long before the C&O abandonment of the Lex Sub.

  • @iceman977th man i would give almost anything to settle in my head , if what Im remebering was true... I could have sworn there was this huge tunnel I walked thru... Perhaps even off a funtioning line, could have swonr it had ornate stone work and a key stone at the top... Im afraid my memory from youth has betrayed me hahah

  • @sonnytsbr Wrong line. If it ran to Olive Hill, it was more than likely the former EL&BS, then C&O, then CSX Lexington Sub. I had a timetable somewhere of the line, have to find it, it has listings of the tunnels & such.

  • Nice video, and some wonderful guitar playing!

  • i sure like the video. i saw some guy interviewed on pbs about this railroad. i also like the book
