The extra jaws are NOT spare jaws. They are the reverse jaws as the fitted jaws are not reversible hence you need the extra jaws.

I purchased one of these units and am looking for help using the quick change tool holder and how the cutting tool should be positioned.

now that you have had this unit for sometime, how have you found it to be, i want to get a unit to make pins and weld in bushings, how big of round stock will fit in the chuck

@Kr4ftw3rk you could also flip the threading tool upside down, and run the spindle clockwise to obtain LH threads without changing the rotation of the leadscrew

i'm gonna have to check this out, seems like a very usefull thing to have a small lathe at your home or shop, looks like a ton of fun to use, i love lathes

saunixcomp (I hope this isn't a stupid question), besides being able to produce right handed threads - are you able to turn left handed threads as well?

Yes - the leadscrew can be run R-L or L-R (right to left or left to right). No problem turning left handed threads.
