Here is a film that I made after a recent trip to Long Beach, California, to see the ship.

  • Queen mary better stay there is to beautyful to get scrapped :/

  • Really enjoyed your video....we stayed on board in 2004, but did not take the camera with us so it brought it all back

  • I'll be crossing the atlantic on QM2 in may and will then stay on the old QM in LA - can't wait! you great vid didn't make the wait easier.

  • nice pic

  • And this happened on the QM once from seeing from another video and its happened in many hotels across the country. False fire alarms. The QM has automated voice evacuations with Edwards Integrity Speaker strobes in white. The red bells I dont know if they were Muster alarms or if they were the first fire alarm system installed after the ship was retired depending on the year she got converted to a hotel.

  • I wish something similar to this would be done in Ocean City MD so I could see what its like lodging on an old ship over night. As far the QM. The electricity is now hooked into the long Beach Electrical system. And she now has commercial building fire alarms instead of ship Muster alarms.

  • @davyboy98 I know...but that would be impossible. She is too old to set sail again and all of her engines have been taken out. I agree with you, it would be a dream to see her sail again.

  • @ManWhoLovesTheMary I would probably now say QM is far superior to the Titanic, I guess it just doesn't quite have the same history behind it, after all Titanic is the most famous of all shipping accidents.

  • @JZZ31 Are you speaking from a historic standpoint, or her current layout now? Because she has been changed a lot since her conversion into a floating hotel. Yeah, she was/is more simple than Titanic (decor wise), but I don't think LESS detail was put into her.

  • Its a magnificent ship, just not as refined and as the Titanic was imo.
