Ok, first off, get a better wide angle lens, the fish eye is distracting. Two, you have another Mic, USE IT. Third, they based their software in Ubuntu for all the reasons that Apple is bad at listening to users and providing product information and consistent platform for professionals. The Linux community has all of these problems with Ubuntu as well.

Further, we don't need cloud computing for video editting. We don't need another company farming our data.

Sounds like vaporware to me. You can talk all you want, the execution is what matters.

.. If oneday RED provided support for open source tools, then maybe I'll try... but for now I'm sticking with Adobe but not because of PP.

It's not correct that "professional" is defined simply from a monetary perspective. That actually couldn't be further from the truth. Professional also refers to certain quality standards and techniques used.

In regards to video editing then for most "professional" users it's actually necessary to use commercial product to even start the creative process and this is especially true in regards to most DSLR file types and up.

Try editing RED files in Openshot why don't ya..
