@dpierce321 Definition of "the best drummer" in the world? No matter what music you listen to... when pro drummers talk about awesome drummers, they don't talk of hierarchy, they talk about skills, musicianship, groove... Music is not a competition but sharing, feeling and discovering...
Anyway, regarding skills, musicianship and groove... Royster Jr at 10 maybe was better than Jordisson... that's soooo not comparable... Royster is at least as fast as JJ but with feelings and groove... period

but the difference is you and me obviously think from a different perspective. its not that i dont have a wide enough knowledge in drummers to make comparisons its just that me and you obviously listen to different types of music and also.. im still learning and a take 2 other instuments at that so i really know i little bit of all 3 but correct me if im wrong he ISNT the best drummer alive..and im defiantly not saying hes not UP THERE..im just saying hes not the best alive..thats the topic

i would have to disagree man. tony is definatly up there with buddy and neil for being so amazingly versitile in many aspects of music. and if your talking about just strait chops...then tony at age 11 was killin it playing pro drum festivals. i would like to see joey jordison play some respectable swing jazz or anything other then controlled-spasm blast-beats. you clearly dont have a wide enough knowledge in drummers to be making comparisons.
