India doesn't have the pull that US has. If India would have sent army in Afghanistan, there would have been a lot of backlash from other Muslim countries and Muslims living in India who are in millions. India has invested close to 1.6 bn $ in Afghanistan which is considered very significant. There are always a lot of way help can be provided. India and US have a joint partnership. This is a relationship based on mutual benefits.

2nd insanely Fastest Growing Economy after China ~ Plus its a democracy just like US.
It will benefit both of us in the future.
China on the other hand would be competitors in the future and they have good relations with Russia. [ Arms ]
So its important to maintain proper relations right now since India [ Future Knowledge Center ] and China has a love hate relationship.
Plus India will always be against Pakistan and would be more trustworthy than China.
