From the 1965 television version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Stuart Damon sings "Loneliness of Evening."
(This song, originally intended for South Pacific, was not included in the original 1957 production. Ironically, it's my favorite from the whole musical.)

I was so sad when they left this out of the 1997 T.V. version with Brandy. Imagine this song in Paolo Montalban's voice!

It really is just a lovely song. Makes me wonder why it didn't make the cut in South Pacific - I think it would have fit in well.

I love Stuart Damon. But I prefer younger princes, like Paolo Montalban. I feel it Just fits the Prince to be a teenager, more than a man.

Stuart Damon. Loved him so much here; I almost wish he had spent more time singing than on General Hospital. ;) Thanks for posting this, I haven't heard it in a long time. He's just breathtaking.

Loneliness of the Evening was introduced in this particular production and I well worth the wait. It's one of my favorite moments and sets the tone for Damon's character especially as he sings it so beautifully and with such an ardent quality.

Prior to playing this role, Damon had appeared on Broadway in several musicals among them was a revival of Rodger's The Boys from Syracuse. The album is still available. He gives a beautiful and believable account as the prince and his only rival in this role is Jon Cypher who originated the part in the original telecast from 1957. I must admit, though, I do find his singing more thrilling as it has such an easy open sound.

Mr. Damon was on General Hospital for almost 30 years. During that time he sang a number of times. He even did a version of "10 Minutes" for one Nurse's Ball. Keep in mind he was in his late 20's during Cinderella. He was on GH for a number of yrs before they took advantage of his voice. So for GH his age spans 40's to 70's and the voice isn't quite as pure and strong as it was in his 20's, but it's still beautiful to me. :-) Just do a search of "Stuart Damon singing".
