@rajworld2001 Hinduism taught by Shankaracharya was od Advaita Vedanta Philosophy. This is Shakta Sect.

i have seen this happening churches in africa or at the time of eid as well as well.Turkey is slaughter for Thank giving in the western world is common.
But is very strange that these rituals happpen because of ignorance of people about Hindusim. The vedas does not permit this. The humans always know taking life is a sin but feel less guilty doing it in the name of god .
Centuries People did this but since then Vedas & shankara acharaya taught us that this is wrong

Jai Maa. Shakta greetings from America. Vedas mention Ashwamedha sacrifice. All cultures have performed animal sacrifice. Not all currents of Hinduism preach ahimsa. I find it ironic that this was filmed for St. Xavier college. Francis Xavier destroyed many temples and wanted to destroy the Hindu religion.

@MauryaCadre True. Ashwamedha sacrifice is indeed mentioned in the Vedas. And yes, all cultures have performed animal sacrifice. But just because everyone practices it does not necessarily justify it or make it the right thing to do. And what does this film have to do with anything that Francis Xavier did? This film simply attempts to analyse and explore the reasons behind the practice of animal sacrifice and tries to find out if at all it is necessary in the 21st century.

@MauryaCadre And this film just expresses a point of view. Today, when animals are hurt, u have PETA and Greenpeace raising their voice and protesting vociferously against the injustice done to these animals. Well, then what about these conditions? And just because Francis Xavier, supposedly. did the stuff that u say he did, doesn't mean that a student of St. Xavier's college cannot think rationally! St. Xavier's College does not support injustice of any kind whatsoever.

@MauryaCadre And may I add, St. Xavier's College did NOT commission the making of this film.
