Jan 12 2009 - Me and the Cutest Mongolian Boy Speaking Monglish

This is my super little Mongolian friend, GunDalai. We would practice English and Mongolian all the time. I wish I could translate everything. For you Mongol speakers, this might be a bit funny, like when I say "Yahuu gaigui uu?" and when I can't undertand his friend's name "Altan Uchir" which ironically means Golden Meaning or Golden Reason. @EvangelineBo No bother. Yes, Mongolians rolls their R's. It's more pronounced when they sing. It's not exactly like a spanish R. Mongolian is a very difficult language to learn. It's very different in every way you can imagine from English or French. And many of the phonetic sounds were unfamiliar to any language I learned before. this was me after about 6 months. I'm much much more advanced now, but it helped to live there for two years.

He is a smart little cookie! As for you, my friend, I am very impressed by your Mongolian. Your pronounciation is very good. I think his friend's name is Altan Ochir, not Uchir. Ochir is a mace or truncheon, perhaps.
