This election is too important to screw around trying to steal incremental votes from the major candidates. If Barack Obama wasn't at least 10 times better than McCain I could see the point, but we can't waste our vote on third party this year. I'm a registered Libertarian and I'm saying that!!!

That said, get it together 3rd party. When you get serious about me, I'll get serious about you. Obama '08!

  • Ron Paul is who I supported as well!

    Yes, rediculed, unwanted saviour!

But yes, with any candidate, you have to do your homework. Glad to hear there are voters who actually do their research!

  • Unless the candidate has a long open service history, I do not know their values, only their RHETORIC. What Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin say means very little to me. They all say what you want to hear. I want to KNOW who they are by KNOWING what they have been. If they are a new guy they have an extra big job ahead of them not just selling the message, but proving their worth. It's very cheap to get the word out early and start getting serious. It's called INTERNET, not traveling. OWNED again bub.

  • I swear you are as dense as they come. Do you not PAY ATTENTION to anything I say? Ron Paul is the ONLY Republican or Third party candidate that earned my vote. The ONLY one! Baldwin and Barr were pathetic lame ass religious hicks. I am not throwing my vote away on someone who didn't work for it. It's called principle. Look it up!

As for band wagon, you think Ron Paul was the hot ticket? He was barely getting press AT ALL and I stuck by him to the end. Just shut it before you get hurt. OWNED.

  • I'm not even a 3rd party voter. I just think your words and actions lack logic. What you request is too high a demand for a 3rd party to meet. What your asking for is either someone with $4 billion to run a 3rd party campaign or a 3rd party to pile up debt running 2+ years ahead of an election just to impress you enough with their desire to win, and not with their values. It's retarded. If you agreed with Ron Paul you wouldn't have voted for Obama. Just stop pretending (in general).

  • Ron Paul is a Republican. Most people who call for smaller government are Republicans. True that no party has been that friendly to liberty since Reagan, but you voted for Obama. You didn't even vote for the ideal you claim to value. Why didn't you vote LP then? At the same time you laud Ron Paul, while voting against the values he stands for. You seem to be someone who likes to jump on the bandwagon of anything gaining in popularity, and act like you know what you're talking about.

  • The problem is they lack leadership, mass appeal and a strong connection in their message to the public. The best I have seen is Ron Paul's presidential campaign. We need to do that again times 10 if we want any kind of significant influence at all. We need to reach the average person on all levels. We can do this. We need to be smarter.

  • Liberty you would hope doesn't have to be a third party message, but right now IT IS. Name one politician in either major party who has even whispered that word in 30 yrs. Ross Perot did better because he bought his way in, but at least he made himself known. He had self-confidence and a loud voice and believe me, 3rd party really needs that right now.

  • I do support 3rd party in many ways but I am also bringing in the reality check people like you are too afraid to accept. I will offer my patronage, but in the end of the day if I don't sense strong, dependable LEADERSHIP, I won't vote. What matters more than the principles one runs on is the character of that person. After all, when it comes down to it we are electing the man, not his campaign rhetoric. Dwell on that for a good minute.

  • libertarians are also members of the Republican Party. Libertarians can be members of any party or even be declined to state. Liberty doesn't have to be a 3rd party message. No party owns the rights to a platform. Ron Paul ran as a major party candidate. Regardless, I simply pointed out that he did terribly compared to successful third party runs, such as Ross Perot. You don't know what you're talking about. Stop acting like you do. Please please please take a PoliSci class for gods sake

  • Look if you think the best way to help 3rd parties is to punish them for not being as big or as popular as the two major parties, you're going to hurt them more. If you truly value the policies of a 3rd party and you want them to win, you should support them by voting for their candidates, making campaign donations and volunteering. If you think they should come to you, while you sit on your ass, they're not going to be helped much. If you don't care about 3rd parties, the just stop this bs.
