This was a very dangerous close call. No one on the LSO platform new these guys were in the middle of the deck. A safety officer ordered the wave off.

As the great Red Forman would say, DUMBASSES.

Looks like a trip to Pri-Fly for a one-on-one with the Air-Boss....

@Nanaijo3 - Two nice posts, but the pilot can definitely see almost the whole deck until he's right on top of it. (The Hornet's view over the nose is designed that way.) Two little specks with arms and legs are not going to be very visible, though.

Yeah, I pitty the guy who uploaded this video. THe GW CO is going to have a field day with him or her when it's all over and done with.

Clearly it wasn't the pilot that saw them and pulled up. There's no way for the pilot be able to see them from that landing pitch angle. Someone in the tower control told him to wave off at the last second.
That's a good reaction from two people, the pilot and the tower controller.

i've worked on a carrier and on these planes... that F you see on the screen means the deck is foul... the deck being foul means there is something that is preventing a jet to land safely, be it personnel, a cable not ready, or things in the landing area, the W on the screen means wave or wave off, either the pilot wasn't paying attention to the wave off sign or someone gave him the signal late, the guys on the deck look like cable handlers and looks like they were going to check the cables
