  • From 0:11-0:13, what silent film is that clip from? I've been trying to find out for the longest time.

  • It's George O'brian, from the film Noah's Ark.

If you click on the more info tab, I've listed the films as they appear in order.

  • Anyone have information on the song? Who is it by?

  • No one knows exactly who composed the music. Many people, including myself, think it was Carl Davis, who is a well-known musician who has composed music for many silent films. -Just a guess though. If you e-mail the people at the TCM website, they might help.

  • I'm pretty sure that is not Zazu Pitts in that first one marked greed, it looks more like Lillian Gish

  • No, only Zasu Pitts had those big, forlorn eyes. There might be a slight resemblance to Lillian, but its definitely Ms. Pitts in Greed.

  • I love this montage! If it were not for TCM, we would not have the opportunity to view so many of these wonderful films.

  • *SIGH* Garbo is stunning, but it just doesn't get better than Valentino. I LOVE him so much.

I hope TCM shows more silents, and hopefully the films and the actors will recieve the recognition and apreciation they deserve; if it not for them, there would be no Hollywood.

  • On the eve of Xmas Eve from My Personalities........P.E.R.S.O.N.A.L.I.T.Y.(person)ation)ality.......All round the world.....

  • Does anyone know the name of the film that features the man chasing a bird around town named Agamemnon only to set the bird and himself free after running into the philosopher??

  • Buster's eyes!

  • Rudy.....

  • There's something about silent films.......

  • @andeaver: If you can somehow see "The Cameraman", I highly recommend it. In fact, it was the first Buster Keaton movie I ever saw. Although it doesn't have the same amount of death-defying stunts, as say, "Our Hospitality", it is full of wonderful physical comedy. Also, "The Cameraman" is one of those rare comedies that can be describes as beautiful or touching, and you can see the subtlety and depth of Keaton's acting.

  • I've seen all of these except Noah's Ark(0:11), Love(0:18), and the Cameraman(0:20).

The funny thing about this montage are the moments when you recognize them in silient films. Last night I saw The Wind, and noticed the lantern swinging back and forth is the same shot in this montage!

  • One of the greatest things I've found on TV. The first full Silent film I saw on Silent Sunday was The King of Kings, I LOVED IT!! After that I couldn't get enough of these classics. It's because of silent sundays I started to collect dvds of silents.
