  • Your technique is quite good. However, make sure your practice is focused and neat in appearance. "Always strive for neat work," as E.C. Mills said. Also, I see a bit of wrist movement in your ovals; do away with that entirely.

Perhaps it's the camera angle, but your pen seems at times not exactly square with the paper. The pressure sure be equal on both tines of the point, so that the line is even. In any event, I appreciate your efforts. Yours truly,

    B.V. Platt,

    IAMPETH

  • @bplatt1069 Mr. Platt, thank you for the kind comment. However I will have to correct you in one thing, I use no wrist movement on this video or any other when I practice OP I make it a priority to use the whole arm movement, it might seem that way because of the camera. Secondly I was writing as much as possible on this vid, they do not represent my practices. If I may, perhaps I could see some of your Ornamental Penmenship? and the fact that Are you representing IAMPETH?

  • @HoustonCalligraphy The camera can be deceptive. Forgive me if I offended you, but it seems you would have presented a more structured exemplar for display on the Internet, e.g., neat rows of ovals and straight line drills, several lines of a particular word or sentence, rather than a hodgepodge of this and that.

As one who is not at all tech savvy, I would have to send you a specimen of my writing through the post. As for my association with IAMPETH, I am presently an active member.

  • @bplatt1069 No offense at all, also because of time (on line) a lot of my practices are improvised. I am aware of IAMPETH as I was an active member myself, however the fact that you wrote IAMPETH under your signature seems that you are implying these are the views of such organization. I am no expert on this type script (yet) as you can see, hwever the book I am studying states not to worry about shapes/forms and concentrate on speed. I did not see your examplars on IAMPETH. You can email them.

  • I did a search on here and found it, thanks :D
