SurvTech Solutions Surveying & Mapping, headquartered in Tampa Florida, is very pleased to announce a brand new service! SurvTech now offers Subsurface Utility Location by the use of Ground Penetrating Radar. Ground Penetrating Radar or GPR is a technology that can digitally reproduces a, two-dimensional subsurface cross section image of soil and subsurface features of aa specific area. The image is then processed by software to create a 3 dimensional drawing to show exactly what is underground and where it is in relation to georeferenced markers.
Subsurface utility location provides locating, identification and designating of utility and subsurface investigation to determine the exact location of that facility without the destruction caused by excavation.
It is used to locate water, wastewater, gas, power, CATV, telecommunications and fiber optic lines.
SurvTech Solutions now offers Ground Penetrating Radar or GPR as an added benefit to our clients. By having GPR and SUL capabilities in house, SurvTech is able to be efficient and responsive to our clients need for the location of underground lines.
This type of service is critical in the location and safe maintenance of existing underground utility lines. Lines are typically marked by flags of various color depending on the type of underground utility
