Play it Through - Maniac Mansion Bernard and Razor Part 1

Hey everyone on this episode of Play it Through its Maniac Mansion brought to us by Jaleco and Lucasfilm games. Maniac Mansion is one of the best examples of the point and click genre on the NES or any system for that matter. With its great memorable characters and some of the funniest cut scenes and easter eggs makes Manaic Mansion a all time classic. The game also features tons of different interactions as well as endings to work towards. You have your main character Dave and then can choose from 2 other characters to take along out of a possible six. Each character has unique abilities that allow them to interact with certain items and get certain endings. In this run I am using Bernard and Razor and work towards Bernards ending. Enjoy!!

This is an awesome playthrough! I'm enjoying it a lot, even though I've finished the game myself countless times... but I never played the NES version, though.

By the way - the reason you can just open the security door here is it's a NES game, so it doesn't have manual based copy protection.

In other versions of the game, you need to enter codes from the manual in order to open that door.

Also, it's already been mentioned, but I'll mention it here as well, you can also give Green Tentacle, or just Green as some people like to call him, the can of Pepsi to get past him.

Good old Maniac Mansion, to bad the NES version was butchered due to Nintendo's censoring shinagins back in the day.

I rented this game only a few days after it came out in 1990. Got it for Christmas in 1990 and played like crazy all winter into summer when not in school. Finally beat it with the help of the hint book they released for NES version. I play it on/off to this day, and know this game like back of my hand. This combo is the most easy. I would guess Dave, Jeff and Sid is the hardest or Wendy instead of Sid. Jeff is useless and Dave is pretty close to useless. Bernard has the most talents.
