My wife and myself had our Christmas holiday in Thailand in 2004 which we spent in Bangkok and the North before finally deciding to end our trip on the beach.I wanted to go to Phuket to where I had been before and my wife had previously lived for 5 years. She knew at that time of year the Andaman sea was the rainy season so we opted to stay at Ko Samed in the Gulf of Thailand. As we left the island on Boxing Day we heard the terrible news of what had happened and how lucky we had been. The rest of the trip was overshadowed by the terrible tragedy we had been so close to.The flight back was filled with the injured.

I had just started to make videos so when I got home I was moved to make a tribute to those that lost their lives. The music is by Carabao - Thailand's most popular rock group and the second version of the song in English is by the Thai Princess who lost to her son.

May all their souls rest in peace.

The Lyrics of the song translated

Wipe Your Tears Andaman
Never a thought, could not imagine. No chance to prepare.
Overcast skies, trembling earth.
Never experienced, never seen. Never given it a thought.
What is a Tsunami? I only know Sasimi.

It came as Death. Swooping in destroying the beach.
It crushed everything into ruins... Tsunami

Never considered, never counted. So many dead bodies.
The earth is crying over the merciless sea.
No matter who, no matter from where. No one was spared.
Against the force of nature, man is just but a grain of sand.

It came as Death. Swooping in destroying the beach.
It crushed everything into ruins... Tsunami

Andaman, heaven on earth
Separation, it must be fate
Andaman, paradise taken by surprise

Bring your support. Wipe your tears Andaman.
Bring your support. Wipe your tears Andaman.

Ooh, ooh, Tsunami

  • @xing95210 2. Never dare, we are all surrounded They are seeking survivors Oh no can't you see We all tremble now with pain No matter who, no matter which nations There is no exception Mother Nature masters everything Everyone likes a little sand They came like the Great Reaper Upon the beach unstoppable power Destroy everything Tsunami Andaman A place of paradise Now we are leaving when they are dying They had suffered whilst we are crying...oh life
  • Lyrics for the version of the song in English. Its too long, so I'll sent in parts. 1. Never dream, never thought Of what may come To be completely in the dark To live these live upon the fear Never sight, never sense it and there is no clue What is tsunami out of the blue How many lives that we have lost They came like the Great Reaper Upon the beach unstoppable power Destroy everything Tsunami
