Video from the "Türkenmark" (Turks Market) BiOriental at the Maybachufer in Berlin Kreuzberg. The weekly market takes place every tuesday and friday from 11:00 to 18:30. No other market in Berlin is so big and full of life as this, and nowhere else in Berlin, they offer so many fruit and vegetables like here. 120 to 150 dealers are selling their goods week after week.

The market is located directly beside the Landwehrkanal at the Maybachufer between the Kottbusser- and Ohlauer bridge and connects the two Berlin districts Kreuzberg and Neukölln.

In addition to many Turkish market stalls, selling mainly fruit & vegetables and some Turkish specialties, there are also many non-Turkish market stalls. For example at one end of the market (direction Ohlauer bridge) there are market stalls with some organic products such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods. Besides the numerous food stalls, there are also a lot of clothes, jewelry and toy market stalls.

The prices of fruits & vegetables, fish and lamb are as cheaply as anywhere else. Tip: Between 17h to 18h just before the market closes, the prices go significantly down again!

The market can be reached by the metro line U8 (U-Bhf. Schönleinstrasse) and the Bus 140.

Der Türkenmarkt ist ein Wochenmkarkt, der jeden Dienstag und Freitag von 11.00 bis 18:30 stattfindet. Kaum ein andere Markt in Berlin ist so groß und lebendig wie dieser und nirgendwo sonst in Berlin gibt es ein derart großes Obst- und Gemüseangebot wir hier. Woche für Woche verkaufen dort zwischen 120 und 150 Händler ihre Waren.

Der Markt befindet sich direkt am Maybachufer des Landwehrkanals zwischen der Kottbusser Brücke und der Ohlauer Brücke und verbindet die beiden Berliner Stadtteile Kreuzberg und Neuköln.

Neben vielen türkischen Ständen, die hauptsächlich Obst & Gemüse, Stoffe und türkische Spezialitäten anbieten gibt es auch viele nichttürkische Stände. So gibt es z.B. am einen Ende des Marktes (Richtung Ohlauer Brücke) einige Stände mit Bio-Produkten wie Obst, Gemüse sowie Backwaren.Außer dem riesengroßen Lebensmittel Angebot sind auch jede Menge Klamotten-, Schmuck- und Spielzeug- Stände vertreten.

Die Preise für Obst & Gemüse, Fisch und Lamm sind so günstig, dass man sich fragt, wie die damit Gewinn erwirtschaften. Tipp: Gegen Feierabend (ab 17:00) gehen die Preise noch mal deutlich runter!

Der Markt ist am besten mit der U-Bahn Linie 8 (U-Bhf. Schönleinstraße) zu erreichen. Außerdem hält der Bus 140
