I used to think similar to your point. However, if a fetus is scientifically and biologically a human being, and killing a human being is murder, and murder is of concern to people other than the parties directly involved, then it follows that people will object.

NASA wouldn't find a zygote on mars. They'd find the sexually reproducing organisms that produce the specialized germ cells that give rise to a zygote thru fertilization.

Ang for a zygote being alive? Sure, it is as alive as a sperm and egg before fertilization, or as your skin cells are alive. But a zygote is not alive in the sense of a FULL HUMAN with personality and volition. and it shouldn't be alive considering 1/3 of all pregnancies are naturally terminated by natural errors.

A fetus has the potential to be a full REALIZED life, but until it is born it is a POTENTIAL life. like a skin cell transplanted into an egg (ever heard of sheep dolly?). And our laws would never change to recognize a fetus as a FULL human life because it would be illogical. Once a fetus is recognized as a FULL LIFE, or a zygote, you must register it for a SSN, full name, and prepare funerals for the 1/3 of pregnancies that end in miscarriages. Then investigate the mother for possible murder.

This video is completely misleading. You do realise that every cell in your body technically 'lives'. So what are we doing when we are cleaning our hands? Well, murdering according to you. It is not a question of when life begins it is whether the killing of a foetus - an extremely undeveloped form of human life that could not sustain its own life - can be morally justified; and I think the answer to that is yes.

A zygote is NOT a HUMAN BEING. It's a single cell. It's a POTENTIAL LIFE. NOT a REALIZED LIFE since it can't survive outside the womb.

If zygotes - at time of fertilization - were FULL HUMANS with FULL RIGHTS - they'd have to get a SSN, name registration, date of fertilization, and since 1/3 of all pregnancies are LOST to natural miscarriage, we'd have to have a FUNERAL and a possible murder investigation as to the cause of the miscarriage. Do you know who's a full realized life? THE MOTHER
