Back in Shanghai, Derek and myself picked up some rabbit ears at the affordable cost of 6 yuan per set (less than $1), and decided to have some goofy random fun on the streets of Beijing. Tiananmen Square was the natural choice... No arrests were made, and in fact the police seemed quite tickled by this. The locals thought we were there with the Special Olympics though...

Hmmm.. I dont know. The guy at the security checkpoint looks the same, but it might just be the uniform and the sunglasses... Can't tell from the grainy video.
They were nice though, totally unlike the Taiwanese cops in the co-called democracy in Taipei.
