When you see people on youtube do you see just a label?
Atheist, Christian, Lesbian Straight, Black or White. Or do you see a person that has been shaped by life events. It is much easier to just see a label than a person. If you see a person do you have more compassion on why the person chooses the ideology that they do?

  • I cannot say for certain whether I keep an open mind 100% of the time- I know I can be judgmental based off of a person's apparent intelligence level- but when it comes to religion/sexuality/whatever I could care less. These details mean nothing to me. All I care about is a person's ability to observe and absorb information, as well as their kindness to those who deserve it.

  • @choirgirl good insight and comments.

  • Sometimes it's hard to see the person behind the ideology presented in the video...one often has to force oneself to do so.

Good to see a person being herself in this video (and the others that you make)!

  • @wonderpope thank you.

  • I love sharks, you're getting 5 stars from me! - TT aka Terry Townsend

  • 5 stars! First, I applaud your bravery.

Secondly, I see people as they portray themselves, if they only show their ideology, it is all I have to go on. I have empathy for others, yet if they cannot share what makes them what they are, show their scars, then how can I have empathy for them as a person? I try to give the benefit of the doubt but when they behave as a caricature then I treat them as such. If they show their humanity I am inclined to listen better.

    (Thirdly, love your accent!)

  • but then again............I am long since dubbed to be *demonic*or worse yet, satan Himself (checks if still female, well yeah but thats what they say------- the Y-cult, so ye never know!)everything is possible as long as they think it is...... LOL

  • Hi Nancy :) yeah ive had my share of ready-made lables lol..its far more interesting to me to look in to how folks react to various things which cause reactions........Its why Ive liked what youve thought and said as far as your own in sight, which ye seem to have alot more of than many do, regadless of lebeled areas lol :) the more i see of your insight the more i like ye. ye donta have to agree with me, your insight says enough

  • Nanee715 Part2

Whereas people and their philosophies and religions bellowed around me and made no sense whatsoever.

At an early age I became enamored with materialistic truth.

I have never wavered from it.

Well I have always been a "Nerd" anyhow.

(sings a song to the tune of: "i was country when country wasn't cool")

"I was a pocket protector nerd when nerds weren't coooool"

Part of the reason I went into technology was that I couldn't make heads nor tales of the stuff and nonsense from people all around me.

Technology was logical and allthough complex, it was predictable if you studied it enough.

  • @kaspar for me it started as emotional. But sometimes that is the beginning of being able to look at things more rationally and then make a more informed choice. That is what happened to me.

  • @heatherlynblue it is difficult for me at times to see yokeup and geerup as people. I dislike arrogance immensely and it makes it difficult to see that when a person acts like this they are acting out of a place of insecurity.
