  • beautiful clip .. .. thanks for posting

  • President Carter got the peace prize too. You know Obama was nominated for the Nobel Peace prize twelve days after taking office. Upon acceptance of winning it, Obama was praised by the committee, "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy". . They also gave the peace prize to Yasser Arafat, the leader of the PLO, the best known terrorist organization on the globe. This is like giving it to David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the KKK.

  • Obama deserved the swedish Nobel peace prize which is awarded by the norwegian Nobel peace prize commity. But is it that the norwegian peace prize commity never say anything about the swedish instigator Alfred Nobel? It´s like having a dinner once a year and never mention that it´s actually someone else who has paid and taken initiative to the dinner even though you have paid for arrangements..It´s nothing wrong in being polite..

  • The biggest indictment of the nobel prize in literature is that james joyce never got one. He is the 2nd greatest writer ever, behind shakespeare, and wrote the greatest novel ever.

  • Philip Roth, Cormac McCarthy, Carlos Fuentes... they don't need a Nobel Prize, they're just magnificent, monumental writers just like other non-winners (unfairfully non-winners): Nabokov, Borges, Greene or even Shaffer. Some of the greatest writers ever didn't recieve the prize.

But other incredible and well-deserved winners... well! My dear Jelinek, Lessing, Pamuk, Seferis, Mann, Bjornson, Canetti, Golding, Milosz... masters, my lads! GREAT MASTERS!

  • This is a forgettable win, especially coming after last year's extremely well deserved, long-time-coming win by Lessing.

  • It is not fair to write history backwards, and also, I hope that no one takes you seriously when you claim that dynamite has ever being used by terrorist or that it has been killing ten million the times of earth population.

My final objection is that I think it is scary with this kind of narrow thinking american imperialism like in wanting to change all non-american names and references to american ones.

  • I'm glad Philip Roth didn't win the Nobel, he doesn't need it.

  • Bravo LeClezio! Thank you for what you have done for Mauritius!
