V24 19/4/09 Visiting Cheras Aquarium

A visit to Cheras Aquarium, owned by Mr Yap Loy Foo who was the very first importer of Japanese koi into Malaysia 36 years ago. Mr Yap was kind enough to bring us to his home to see his 100 ton pond which houses 30+ koi of very high quality. Many mouth watering show winners (past and future) there including a 90cm kohaku, a sanke which was the 2008 ZNA Malaysia Koi Show 1st Runner-Up and a showa which has been undefeated in her show history so far. The water in his home pond was a little greenish on that day, though, so visibility was not the best.

For the record, Mr Yap is apparently the only person to ever have won GC, 1st RU and 2nd RU at the same show in Malaysia.
