The acting across the board was amazing. Treat Williams is a great actor who should have gotten some awards for this. Great film too.

The problem with films today is that they are over- produced and blown out of proportion! Films had a sense of realism because attention was paid to the gritty feel for photography and great screenwritting! Real dialog spoken by what we could relate to being real people.

Just watched this and was blown away. I imagine it was "just too real" when it came out and people didn't know what to do about it. Definitely a major blueprint for any crime drama on tv or screen that followed...

Totally agree....it's probably the best police-corruption movie ever made !! Another great crime-drama from the same year of 1981 is Michael Mann's debut feature "Thief" with James Caan in his best role .... another classic
