A/B blind test did not show any significant differences between cables from 2 to 2000 Dollar/meter.
They tested speaker cables but same thing applies to any cable. As long as they are properly shielded, properly dimensioned in diameter and sufficient in conductivity, no one will ever be able to tell any significant sound difference in blind test.
Dont believe it? Get yourself tested BLIND!
The 'new' jack is something that improves the connection and is nice to have though.
