On November 15th 1996 Borge Ousland started from Berkner Island with a sled of 178 kilos. After covering a distanse of 2845 km he reached McMurdo base by the Ross sea on January 17th 1997. This was the first crossing of Antarctica from coast to coast alone without support.

  • Unsupported solo-crossing antarctica , unsuppoerted solo-crossing north-pole, the top of mount Everest,, the nort-west,,AND northeast-passage , followd Nansens tracks in Frans Josef land. Northsea-deepdiver, and former Marinehunter-commando. This guy is probebly the toughest Norwegian that has ever lived. A real "no-bullshit" man!
