@chaffyn Amen.

I disagree with the comment that Nico's version is better than this one. I am a fan of both Nico & The Fairport Convention/Sandy Denny. Nico's version is excellent, but Sandy's version is totally awesome. The Bob Dylan original from the 'Biograph' compilation is outstanding as well.

this is pretty bad. nico's version is far better.

Parts of this song sound rather like "He Ain't Heavy (He's My Brother" by The Hollies, also from the same year.

I'm going to have to disagree with many of you and say Bob Dylan's version is just easily the best
-
@rmbnxs the bob dylan version isn't your favorite!
-
Sandy's version is tops.No one comes close.

I never "gotten" Nico's appeal.
But that not withstanding, Sandy Denny's soars over anyone else's version you might care to mention, IMO.

@RDBeatnik Dylan is a filthy beast.

Ah, sweet defloration.
I've been a huge Dylan fan for many decades, but this is by far my favorite version of this song.

Having seen 'The Art of Negative Thinking' last week, a great film where this song plays as the credits roll, I was once again reminded how fortunate I am that I know this band. Thank you.
