@Tigermoon1950 BS I have one and after 800 roiunds of CCI ammo. The ammo SIG says to usxe I have had ONE failure to feed. Clean it oil it and use the ammo they say and all it does is shoot. Just like the other three SIG handguns I own.

@stupidplants But I wanted this gun and also wanted a .22lr caliber.

For 300 you could have got your hands on a barely used glock, easy.

@jferret75 WD-40 has some unique uses, like removing tar from a cars paint, getting moisture out of a dristributor cap etc, but has NO PLACE on a firearm. Yes, there will always be people who insist it works just fine, but then again, they are the same people that believe duct tape and bailing wire are the answers to all the world's problems. By the way, never owned any airsoft guns or video games. They weren't around when I was growing up. Just trying to clarify misinformation.

WD 40 was designed as a water displacer and it does work fairly well as a penetrating solution on rusted or siezed bolts etc. It is NOT a firearm lubricant, and in fact has no lubrication qualities at all once it dries. In fact, when exposed to heat (like on a firearm) it turns gummy. Once dry, it does not protect or lubricate whatsoever. When WD-40 gums up it will harden up after a period of time. Heat and dirt speed up this process. This can cause many problems with firearms.

@jferret75 I don't doubt for a second that you ARE using this method with WD-40. I just do not believe it is the right product to use for the intended purpose. Actually, I own a Mosquito and if you use the correct recoil spring for the type of ammo you are shooting and keep your gun/magazine clean and lubricated, you shouldn't have to do anything else to feed/fire/extract hundreds of rounds in each shooting session with at least 95+% reliability with any ammo you choose.

@nwpentax I am at 65k rds and its going fine doing this method. For training purposes it has already paid for itself and if it did get destroyed I would just get another. If your going to come on here claiming wd-40 on a firearm is going to blow them up please, please just get the fuck out of here. Airsoft maybe, the real thing? No. I am sorry it doesnt say hoppes or remoil on the can instead...simple fast is that wd40 works great if used the right way.........HOLY FUCKIN SUPRISE!

@762infidel How would spraying a flammable water displacement / rust inhibitor help you do anything except maybe blow your hand off? I understand the concept of maybe lubricating your magazines as well as keeping the gun oiled up but I definitely wouldn't use WD-40 on any gun. Not only is that stupid, it will ruin your gun.

Sig Mosquito=more jams than Smuckers.
if you did the mods before ever firing it, how do you know it had a problem?
mountaintramp1 5 months ago
@mountaintramp1 I don't really, but all of the reviews I seen and read said that it jammed a lot, so I found areas that I thought might be problem areas and filed and polished them. I probably should have tried it before and after.

By any chance did its seem like the extractor was having a hard time grabbing the rounds?
jpop8807 6 months ago
@jpop8807 Yes! I forgot about that until you said it. It did seem like the gun would get dirty and the empty case would get stuck in the chamber and the extractor would pop off the rim trying to pull it out. I think over time that will correct itself, but I used a dremel tool and polished the inside of the chamber to speed up the break-in process. That helped a lot. Now, after thousands of rounds, it almost never has any problems.
