I wanted to keep my employer-provided ORCA card and my personal ORCA card in the same wallet without one interfering with the other. So I wrapped my personal card in aluminum foil. It works on the train and on the bus! Just keep the two cards separated by other cards, otherwise the foil prevents both from being read. Also, notice that only the side that the exposed card is on will be read; the foil effectively blocks the signal from going through.

There's something on my camera lens... :(

  • When I got my EDL the DOL gave me a couple aluminum lined sleeves. They said that if I ever needed more all I had to do was go to one of the locations and ask and they'd happily provide more. I've never used them period, so I can't say how well they work on EDL, ORCA, or otherwise.

  • I wonder if my wrap was overkill...
