  • I like how almost all of them have this english first name and then an asian last name xD

Were you all really born like that, or did you pick those as nicknames? I'm looking at you, "Terence"!

  • @AngelBiLove hello! (: if you do a bit of research on singapore, you'd find out that we were once a british colony, hence many of us were born with english names although our roots being asian, giving us our asian surnames. it's a cosmopolitan country, comprising primarily chinese, followed by malays, indians, and a small percentage of other races. and yes, those are our actual names written on our birth certificates if that's what you're asking (:

  • @AngelBiLove The true reason for the English first name and Asian last name (actually the English name is an alias, not first name) is the believe that having an English alias would add to their coolness, aura, "whiteness", etc... (you get the idea).

One way to explain it is their cultural insecurity.

But mind you, not all of them feel the need to tag along an English alias.

  • @allfieldsrequiredyt1 have to agree with that to a certain extent. then again, most of us didn't have the liberty of picking our names, our parents did that for us. for some of us, they are officially considered our first names in b&w, for others, they are aliases... just like how i have a friend who has ONLY a chinese name, but he tells everyone else to call him "andrew", even though that isn't part of his certified name. at the end of the day, it's just a name... why fret? (:

  • was nice and stuff until i saw the guy with lip stick on ........ dont tell me u all are gay >.>

  • @skatemeiser HAHA! my lips were just really pink 'cause I was dehydrated. i'm not gay, (well I think at least. HAHA)
