It took Kevin nearly 10 years to get studio support to do this film. As far as the "surreal" dance scenes, kid, that was show business back then and it was great! Darin could dance with the best of them, see some of his old shows on youtube, they always had great dance scenes. I really miss that. I just thank Kevin for having the guts to do this movie, and introduce a whole new generation of fans to Bobby Darin who left us way too soon and never got the credit he deserved.

It's amazing to read some of the occasional negative comments about Kevin Spacey and this film. You have to wonder where they are coming from because he doesn't even trivialize or delve into any so called darker side of his subject. Everything he does in this film places Bobby's many talents and love for life front and center. I have no doubt Bobby himself would love what Kevin did. Two great artists, man, and with all the crap that's out there, you can't say we can't pick and choose.

Bobby Darin, who always lived with the spector of death that hounded him unmercilessly, is one of the all time courageous heroes of the entertainment industry. He should be an inspiration to all who might sometimes forget that life is a gift that one should not be taken for granted. Kevin Spacey, this was a labor of love for you and we will love you always for sharing it with us. Its final sequences brought me to tears and I don't tear easily.

this looks good. I love Sandra and love the song Beyond the Sea. Learning more about her and her husband would be cool, but Youtube doesn't seem to have Part 1 or anything.

@Cluebert Well, at lest you can see the respect and admiration Kevin had for Bobby, he put his heart into this. And Dodd Darin, Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee s son didnt have a problen with Kevin playing his father. It was flimed like an old fashion misical / love story......and I am trilled for that .

I grew up to the music of Robert Cassato, AKA Bobby Darin. There was simply no one like him--he was a true original. That an actor easily 10-15 years older --would even try to do a tribute film to him, is in itself amazing. Kevin Spacey was brilliant & courageous to take on a nearly impossible role--he did it with class, his singing was amazing & all him, & I salute his performance.  Thank-you Kevin--you're #1 with me, & your film was a masterpiece. Wolfsky9
