When you want those special moments to be perfect, you do everything you can to make it so. And all you can hope for is that your idea of perfection is good enough, that perfection will actually be achieved.

Today had to be exactly perfect. I had to give Abigail everything she wanted and I wanted this day to be something special for her. I woke up early and went down to the kitchen to find Nick and the other cook preparing breakfast. "Nick, can I help?"
"Is there a reason for this sudden interest in cooking?"
"I want to make something special for Abigail."
"I understand, sire." So Nick helped me make a nice breakfast for Abigail. I put it on a tray and walked upstairs to my room.
I quietly opened the door and saw Abigail sleeping in the bed. I placed the tray on the bedside table and sat next to her. I gently stroked her cheek, brushing her silky brown hair away from her face. I ran my hand down the side of her body and then looked back at her, still sleeping.
I grabbed a rose from a vase on the table and started humming. I slowly transitioned into singing and Abigail's eyes opened at the sound. She smiled when she saw me and I handed her the rose. She took it from me and sat up. She put her arms around my neck and hugged me.
"Good morning, beautiful. How did you sleep?"
"I always sleep well when I'm next to you." She pulled back.
"Here's your breakfast. Nick and I made it for you."
I handed her the tray and she smiled at me. "You are so sweet. You made this for me?"
"I want you to be happy." I pushed a strand of smooth, brown hair behind her ear.
"I am happy with you."
"Go ahead and eat. And after breakfast, I was thinking that we could go to that cliff that overlooks the ocean."
"That sounds perfect."
We ate breakfast in laughter and happiness. I really wanted her to enjoy this day. It had to be the best day of her life, other than the actually wedding day of course but first she had to say yes. We finished and I took her outside to the stables. I climbed onto the horse and Abigail followed behind me and we rode off.
We got there quickly because we usually walked. I tied the horse to the tree and we sat against it. But I felt something different in the tree. I turned around and stared. It was my name in a heart. Abigail noticed me staring. Her cheeks turned a bright pink and I knew she was the one that drew it.
"I don't remember you drawing this."
"That's because you weren't with me when I did it." I looked at her questioningly. "It was when I thought you had died. I ran here and drew this as a memory. Then I went down to the beach and that's where we found each other."
"Wow. That is more than anyone has done for me." I pulled her into me and she laid down in between my legs. Her head was on my chest and I stroked her hair as we looked out onto the beautiful blue water.
I wanted to do more than this so we went back to the castle. I grabbed Abigail's hand and led her through a gate. She gasped when she entered. We were immediately surrounded by bushes of pink, red, yellow, and other vibrant colors. There were flowers of all kind and I knew Abigail would love it here.
She twirled around and I smiled at how beautiful she was. "This place is beautiful."
"It's the garden. I don't really know why we have one but here it is. I thought you might like to see it."
"It's absolutely wonderful here. All these flowers and... oh, it's just beautiful." She started carefully touching the flowers and occasionally smelling one. Watching her I got the idea. This is where I would propose: in the middle of the garden. There was a stone path and it was perfect. Suddenly, the proposal planned itself out. I knew what to do.
As night approached itself, I knew exactly what to do and how this would go. I gave certain orders to servants and maids. I even called up some musicians. This night had to be more than perfect. Abigail deserved every bit of it. We stayed in my room until it was time for what could be a life-changing night.
"Abigail, get dressed."
"For what?"
"You'll see. The maids made you a new dress. I want you to wear it."
"But why?"
"Trust me, Abigail." She nodded and took the dress. "I'll meet you there."
"Wait. What are you talking about?"
"A servant will tell you what to do." I went outside and called in a maid. "Can you please help Abigail get ready?"
"Of course, Your Highness."
I walked back towards Abigail and put a finger under her chin, making her look into my eyes. "Just trust me, sweetheart. Everything will be fine. Take your time getting ready. I'll be waiting." I gave her a short, sweet kiss and left.
I quickly changed in another room and checked myself in the mirror, just to make sure I looked okay. I walked out into the garden and it was lit by lights hung around. The musicians were waiting: three violinists and one cellist. I took a deep breath and waited for my beautiful Abigail to come.

Aw, that was the sweetest chapter...ever! It made me happy that THEY were happy :D
Joe's so nice to have done all that for her AND to show her the garden. I can just imagine how beautiful it looks :)
I'm glad he's deciding to propose there, it's going to mean SO much to Abigail. I really can't wait to see how she will react. EEP! haha
I just hope he manages to ask her and that no one *cough-Joe's mom-cough-Christine-cough* gets in the way :|

okay, fisrt of all, one of the sweetest chapters, EVER!
I think either all will go perfectly well and Abigail will cry and then she'll say yes.
OR! Momma Jonas intercepts her before she can reach Joe, makes her cry sad tears and sends her up to the room... Or the dungeon. And then Joe waits and waits and feels stood up. Then Christine tells him that Abigail left and he'll be heartbroken and suicidal... hmm...
