This weekly PBS show profiled various types and sizes of businesses. This show is an interesting behind-the-scenes look at the struggles the early Steinberger Sound company faced with the explosive demand for their creations. A chance to see them in person and in action. Originally aired 9/84

  • Original US made L series basses are getting harder to find and more expensive in the secondary market place . These guitars and basses were very popular in the 1980's - sadly , the new Gibson made Steinberger products are nowhere near the quality of there early predecessors in my opinion.

  • WOW.... watching this series has made me really appreciate Ned and the Steinbergers guitars even more. I would love to have both the GT Deluxe and Standard. Thanks for the posts.

  • iNcReDiBLe!..AmAziNg!..iMpReSsiVe!..StUpENdOuS! =0O

  • Too bad Gibson is running the Steinberger name into the ground. The new guitars are shit. I have a 1990's Hohner g3t thats a pretty sweet licensed copy. Someone needs to make the Trans Trem again though. It's probably the last best guitar innovation.

  • I just can't believe it! The Best and most innovative Guitars and Basses in the World, forgotten! Thanks a lot for posting! Funny, I am in Boston and the video was too! ha...thanks man!

  • yeah I know, its a shame.

  • whan an amazing example to all of us, to dont quit, and keep trusting in your plans.

what a man, loved to know this super designer, ned steinberger and all of his pals that runs the business! AMAZING

  • very interesting, thanks so much for posting

  • Now the problem is that bloated hick Ed Roman, who is one of the few sources of Newburgh Steinbergers. I was quoted around US$6000 for a P-Series with transtrem. A P-Series!!! They were the affordable ones.

  • This was a really cool show. Thanks to Ned Steinberger for working so hard and creating such a great product. I feel like I want to support his business now, so I'm going to go out and buy me a Synapse. :)
