We just finished unpacking our stuff when we noticed this beach house on fire. I should have been at the beach instead of checking out fire. :)

  • As the owner of an aging beach house just a few blocks from this one, I find your flippant comments and laughter during this fire crude and offensive. Someone lost something dear - maybe someone was injured.

    Really funny.

  • Sandyfeet - I apologize if I have offended you, but we watched this fire from the start and it was evident that no one was in the house or that anyone was hurt. I understand the video of this fire can be nerve wrecking for someone that has a home down there, but my need to luagh during a serious moment shouldn't be taken personal.

  • And these people have a problem with vol firefighters we make up 85 percent of the nations fire services if it wasint for us the nation would crumble so all i got to say is GOD BLESS YOU .

  • yesterday this apartment was on fire and it started well like at 4 pm or something like that and it was still on fire till 10:50 pm

  • deck gunning will give a quick knockdown so lines can be stretched into the house

  • Maybe u should have just gone to the beach instead of filming this. Laughing about someone elses loss is NOT funny!

  • njluvpets: I have several friends who are volunteer fire fighters. They work just as hard as paid fire fighters. The person speaking on camera makes a reference to the SPI fire fighters as volunteers. I was simply correcting him.

  • I was wondering....why did the deckgun the fire? I always thought that you went from unburnt to burnt when fighting a fire. Deckgunning it just spreads the fire further into the house.

I hope no one was seriously injured in fighting that fire schoonergirl. Also, you have an issue with Volunteers?

  • The entire time you're filming, there are three of SPI's finest INSIDE that home trying to save it (they are not volunteers). One of them is someone I care about and they had a very close call in there, one was slightly injured. They do not stop, they come out, get another hose and climb right back into the fire. Please do not make jokes at their expense. Next time it might be your home they risk their lives to save. My condolescenes to the family that lost their home.

  • You know what, yabrianhoo, as a physician I understand the need to laugh at a serious moment to relieve stress. The difference is that I don't do it publicly where the patient or his family can hear it. Really nice going.

  • It is NOT a laughing matter at all ...This also was my gradparents beach house... To see it burn like that is horrifying... I hope you understand that this damage is serious and that they have had this beach house for many years.

  • Sandyfeet, you are right. This is (was) my parents' beach house that they (and our family) have enjoyed since 1974. It is the unfortunate collateral damage of instant video publicity these days. You never know who is filming and then you never know who is listening to what you say while filming. If you don't want it to be personal to someone, don't post it. It doesn't bother me, but my mother can't even watch the video much less listen to it. They will rebuild and we will enjoy more of SPI.
