About making videos private, you can do it and then have a Blog or tumblr where you put links to all videos so people can still watch it. Or maybe you can make it private and then put the links to the videos on your channel (well it only works if you have the old design of channels, not the new one). Anyway you can also let it public ^^ :P

you should try the private option...like people can only see it if they have the links...it would suck for all your hard work to go to waste. thanks for uploading all these clips! I love watching them!

In the new channel, try disabling comments or something... might help prevent ppl from saying show's name and getting strikes

thanks for the suggestions everyone. i was thinking about making my videos private but i just thought it would be a hassle to provide all the links and some new wonderfuls may not have the proper resources to find them. it's a good thing i have all the videos saved lol. uploading them is not a problem but just editing them takes a bit of time so it's all good :)
