I live in a valley in the Italian Alps. I really love mountains and I can imagine what John must have felt before writing this song. The stars in the sky, standing on a mountain top, the blue water of a lake, see an eagle fly, walking through nature and the friends who share this experiences with you. RIP John. We all miss you

I saw this show the day it was first broadcast and I was amazed at the pure talent of John Denver. After the song Johnny was visibly stunned by the performance. A rare reaction considering his many guests. Digital sound and pixelation do not provide the full experience of how powerfully it was delivered. To sing and play with such command is a true measure of a musician. John earned much greater respect from me that night.

John's dear mother, Erma passed away on Jan 17. She's with John now. RIP Erma. You gave John his gentle soul. We will miss you both.
