  • I did do some tuning. Made sure my TPS voltage was at .99 idle. I also had Wes from one of the mustang Forums burn a chip for me based on this cam ( do a search on corralforum and stangnet). But I ran the cam before the chip was ready and it was not that bad. This cam was specifically meant to be an upgrade for the Cobra's with factory Crane 1.7rr. This summer I put Bosch 4 hole gen 3 injectors in, what a difference.

hey man, just got done putting a crane 2031 in my 95 cobra. my setup is afr 165 with the 2031 and factory intake...i have no lope/thump though. i thought something might be wrong so i called up crane and asked them about it and they told me the cam should not lope because they designed it to work with the factory computer. do you know why yours does that?

Hey there. I need more info.

    * What is your base ignition timing set at?

    * did you install a bored throttle body? Stock Cobra TB is not any larger than the ones on the GT's 57mm I believe.

    * What is your idle RPM? If your idle is too high it will not lope and crackle. Mine is 850 rpm. You can adjust your idle on the throttle body, but you need to make sure and drill out the holes for the TPS so you can adjust it. The TPS then needs to be adjusted to .99 v at idle.

  • They let crane come up with a cam to work with the Crane 1.7 rockers which were OEM in the car. Ford was busy getting ready for the 4.6 modular engines

  • Stock bottom end. I spoke with Ford racing tech line and they recommended this cam. They said this cam was a joint venture between FRPP & Crane. The cam was intended as a factory upgrade for the Cobra 5.0 with the GT-40 heads & 1.7 roller rockers. It comes on at 1800 rpm and really comes alive at 3000 and pulls like a locomotive to redline.

It also has a nasty idle which turns lots of heads.

  • when you put this cam in did you have to tune it to eliminate idle issues? i have an e303 in my 95 cobra and it has idle surge issues and was wondering if this one is more friendly due to the 112 LSA...(e303 is 110 LSA)

  • Awesome! Thank you for the replies, I have 1.7s in my Lincoln rite now so this cam should wake it rite up! Sounds so fuckin mean dude....props

  • Stock pistons? No clearance issues?
