Great sound. Nice and full bodied.

I know this is a very late reply, but here goes...
I have also recently acquired a TK-20, but with a manual. I have scanned the manual and I can email you a copy if you're still interested.

Please remember that you hear here about 0,001% of what is real all-tube Grundig can replay on it's loudspeakers. So in reality it's sound is much more warmer, natural and exciting.
My advice is a completely adjusted, all-tube Grundig TK. It's a really good mic preamp, too. A GRWAT machine!
By the way, I'll release a video of playing TK-47 (stereo 2 tracks) soon. A great machine, the beast of the beast.

@ModestMachine Never mind, one of the belts had broke. Replaced it with an elastic band.

I just acquired one of these, but it doesnt play :(
Anyone care to hazard a guess as to how I can fix it?

@Noleve My first tape recorder was a Grundig TK not sure which one.
I bought it in 1956 and it cost £30 I was earning £9 a week so I reckon
in todays money that would equate to about a £1000 (one thousand)
I swapped it for a prewar Railton car (plus cash) I,d rather still have the
Railton car no disrespect to Grundig!!

The song is 'S Wonderful by Richard Alden & His Piano & Orchestra and that would be a good machine to play it on. What other songs are on the tape?
Of course my friend. Its easy to connect it to a modern hifi amp, however its more"vintage" to hear and see it working alone. Is good to say tht all my old recorders have their eletrolitic capacitors changed and they work great. Thanks for watching.
