"Mileage is everything" its as wrong as you can get. Service and driving style is everything.
You can kill the engine in 50k if you use bad quality fuel and dont change oil, filters and belts,

I started watching these old Top Gear episodes because I was interested in cars. Now I watch the episodes with Quentin Willson in order to get a better education of the English language! ;)

You can keep your hybrid Prius' and the like - banger motoring is green motoring. I've had my old Cavalier for nearly 4 years, it cost me a couple of hundred quid with full service history low mileage, 2 owners from new... Not had any troubles or expensive bills in 4 years - just normal servicing costs, which I can do myself because its easy to work on.
