Laura's Song

Laura's Song, written and performed by Raymond Foulkes in a moment of inspiration. A lament inspired by and in tribute to a documentary film 'A Two Year Old Goes to Hospital' by the Late James Robertson, observing the traumatising affects on little Laura, aged two, of a week long stay in hospital without her parents. In this presentation the music is set against the lamentable effects of global warming with a series of photographs of wild life and the destruction of the natural environment by this avoidable curse.

I would like to pay tribute to my piano teacher Mark Miller www.pianoweb.com who, through his distance learning program bestowed on me the ability to understand harmony which now allows a piece of music like this to spring unbidden from my unconscious mind.

Mark Miller is a professional jazz pianist based in Chicago and teaches pupils all over the world via the internet and telephone.

It's amazing, really beautiful. I'm doing my last work (tesis) to be a Psicologist and i'm investigating about what ties a child to his mother and the away in which this relation infludes on early development. Robertson's work was a gigant found on child development. I really would like to be on contact with people who work for this cause. Sorry because of my mistakes, I speak Spanish.
