A prolapsed uterus can be repositioned to a normal pelvic location using a mersilene tape that is driven through the substance of the cervix and at the same time encircling the uterine cervix recreating the pericervical ring. The other end of the tape is anchored to the promontory of the sacrum through a right sided retroperitoneal para-rectal route.
