This past week Zoo Basel's newest furry residents began to venture outside of their den for the first time, proving to be bold and curious little cubs. Born April 22nd, the three little Snow Leopard cubs have stayed secluded with mom, Mayhan, in the den for the last two months and these pictures are their first debut to the world. While the cubs are still nursing, they are also getting practice at munching chicken, which appears to be more about having fun than dinner at this stage. In the wild this shy mountain dwelling feline is threatened by poaching and suspicious herders. Wild populations are estimated to be only 4,000 - 6,000 making these births all the more important.

Now i have grown up and every day before i go to bed i always regret what i did to the chick. Sometimes i go to the bathroom and cry out for killing the chick. If anyone thinks it is funny or stupid, think what you want. BUT I REALLY REGRET WHAT I DID.

when i was five years old, i remember throwing stones at a little chick caught up in the bush in my garden. I remember the chick crying out. Its mother would come running to it. but since i was throwing stones at the chick, the mother wouldn't come closer, she was scared too. Finally the chick died. I never knew what happened. Latter when my father found the dead chick, he came and beat the hell out of me. I was angry at him.

don't you people feel guilty ever, seeing animals like these living in protected areas just because some A***HOLE hunters are killing them and making them extinct in order to earn money.

@sparklerbombg
i hope they pass a law stating that "if anyone sees a hunter kill animals, then the witness has the full liberty to kill that hunter by whatever means necessary."

@LeishaCamden : Mr Camden, jungle might not be the same "woody" as you might have been thinking. What i want to say was better place for the cute creature is in their natural in-habitation. This is to clarify you that by any means Jungle doesn't mean Amazon like place. And to be more serious i been explored in all type of jungles. Some people needs lot of explanations to make them understand.

@pantiques1 If you let them back into their home the "jungle", its a safe estimate that within 24 months they would be poached. Believe it or not some species are safer in a zoo, then in the wild. It is kind of like Witness Protection. Say you witness a murder, The government (Wildlife conservation) wants you safe for testament (Continuity) They protect you until the... I don't know... Three Finger Steve(Poachers) is behind bars (declined) then they put you back into your home(mountains). Ny Q?
