"IFR" magazine Editor-in-Chief Jeff Van West spent time in the Tower at Kennedy airport to see what it takes to run the operation during the evening push and why it takes two years for a controller to reach full qualification at one of the busiest airports in the Northeast.

  • thirty-one right how about tree one right

  • @012121958 Air China 981 hahaha!!!

  • I have not heared the TWR Controller with the grey shirt for a long time on frequency. It is the guy who is often visible and audible in the background, controlling the 31R arrivals.

Everybody knows what's up with him? Is he retired? I'd like his voice, coolness and calmness.

  • @Verkko1980 me. ask me that question 8 years ago and i'd have no idea.

  • i like how he says "correction"... real ATC talk.

  • Waste of time trying to listen to this.
