  • Stardust is Timeless.

Artie Shaw and His Orchestra + Billy Butterfield's trumpet solo = Perfection

  • The very best version of this song. Thank you so much for posting this!

  • I think this was the first take - incredible!

  • oh this is so nice..i love it :-)))

  • Hard to believe that Artie had been gone for almost 7 years now.He called this the quintesstenial big band version

  • Just found answer to my own question. The trombonist on this classic record is Jack Jenney.

Jenney died in 1945, age 35, in a Los Angeles hospital following surgery for a ruptured appendix,

  • Soloists Butterfield and Shaw are outstanding, but who is the trombone soloist? He's equally good.

  • I like Nat K C singing this because....I do !

  • nice song, I like the great Nat King Cole singing this, just a beautiful tune

  • I really like Satchmo's version!

  • I've heard it said more than a few times that this is the greatest jazz recording ever - arguable but not that far off-base.

  • Always loved Stardust. Didn’t know this version... really glad I do now! Thanks for posting it..
