  • yes,as I can see,its probably soome tractor propulsion or what regearding the stern,I m I wright?

  • the car-carrier´s speed is 13.5 kn.

the tugboat is 30 years old, without azimutal propeller.

  • I think this is not very safe/responsible to take lines at those speeds.....but whatever :)

  • I agree, but here this is the way to do this.

(you must think that that this video was recorded in the sunny mornig of a spring day. We do the same in the night, at 3am raining and with strong wind)

  • @doughesson oh, ok. that makes sense...i had just never heard of it. thanks!

  • @angryadrien When a line is passed to another vessel, the boat on the receiving end of the throw is "taking the line".

  • The White Whale, Moby Dick.

  • excellent

  • just a thought, how much use to the pilot are you at 13.5knts center lead forward, you cant fall back, you cant steer him, you cant put a beam pull on so why the need to do it so fast?

  • WHAT IF THE BOAT SWALLOWED THEMMMM?!

  • @rboos thanks

  • @angryadrien Watch "Tug trhes Part 2" and you will see them "taking lines"...

  • can you please explain "taking line"? thanks
